Summary:

The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for collecting and organizing data obtained during studies and trials and ensures that studies and trials remain on track with clinical objectives and comply with federal regulations.
Experience/Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science- or healthcare-related field required.
  • 1 – 2 years research experience required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist s Principal Investigator on reporting adverse events to IRB and sponsor in a timely manner . A ssist s physicians in following up with patients or patient family members in accordance with procedures.
  • Assist s with research, quality improvement, and other scholarly activities conducted in the Graduate Medical Education department by providing resources to trainees.
  • Assist s with the preparation of data used in grant proposals and budgeting.
  • Assure s research activities are conducted in adherence to sponsors' research protocol, state and federal regulations, and Riverside policy by participation in audits .
  • Collaborate s with hospital personnel to ensure that test articles are ordered and received, accurately documented and stored in accordance with study protocols .
  • Complet ion of study forms and databases, including case report forms, accountability logs, data queries, and other study specific documents for ongoing research studies to be submitted to study sponsors and the IRB .
  • Ensure that appropriate test article is dispensed to patient along with detailed instructions on use (maintaining accurate documentation of each of these along with return test article as requested.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of assigned protocols, including requirements for patient visits, informed consents, patient visit schedules, test, procedures, laboratory information, and drug accountability requirements.
  • Monitor study payments and invoice sponsors per contract guidelines.
  • Obtain background material for research projects; assist in development of research protocol s, case r eport form s , informed consent form s , and study questionnaire s .
  • Plan, coordinate and participat e in study start-up activities, including feasibility assessment, budget, billing, scheduling, and research review meetings.
  • Recruit and conduct initial screening of potential research subjects and assist office schedulers to schedule subject visits as requested . Serve as a point of c ontact for sponsor during site study visits.
